Trying to get in the mood!

An excessively overdressed tree!   We bought it years ago thinking we were saving real trees from being cut down.  Now, of course, it is considered greener to have a real tree but hopefully ours will serve us for a few more years even though bits have already started dropping off.  The sun was shining when I took this photo and much of the colour is lost.
The new tree lights are rather cold looking but I am gradually getting used to them and in reality it all looks better than it does in this pic.   There is a rather nice golden angel on the top but I seem to have cut her off.

There are still a few days to go, so hopefully I will have shrugged off my hibernation mood and feel ready to have a good time.

I am just keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get the farmer's cold!

We have a tree like yours Heather, but I didn't bother this year as we are going away. I am sure you will get into the spirit, have a very happy time, hope it is not too cold and wet for you. Thanks for visiting my blog. Cheers

really? it's better to have a real tree now? well I've learnt something there Heather. ours is up too. I think Christmas is for the children really. it's hard to sum up the enthusiasm sometimes isn't it? hope all's well with you otherwise.

I think your tree looks beautiful, I love overstuffed trees, we've carried on the tradition since the children used to dress them and threw everything on. I'm sure you'll be alright on the night as they say, trouble is it all starts too early these days.

Hope you are getting in the mood now Heather. We have already started on the making merry as family arrived yesterday.
