I got there in the end.

I have completed my crocheted waistcoat at last!  It is a poor photograph as the light was very bad today    and the lightest place was to hang it on the back of the bathroom door!     At the moment it has no fastening and I am thinking of having just one button at the neck.

It's been a busy week and the seedlings in the greenhouse are screaming to be let out.  I foresee a busy weekend potting things up.  At least I will be under cover should this cold wet weather continue.  We were glad to have the heating on again this evening.  I daresay it will take us all by surprise and leave us gasping when it suddenly turns warm.

I am going to treat myself to a comfortable garden recliner.   I had one years ago which succumbed to old age and was never replaced, and am nervous of putting the mockers on our summer weather if I get another.     However, I have decided that if we have a wet summer I will sit in it in the shed and listen to the rain.  If the weather is boiling hot I will sit in it indoors with the patio doors wide open and if it is a perfect summer I shall enjoy it in the garden.   It will have plenty of use!

That is just beautiful! It looks perfect for you.

I think you definitely deserve a new recliner for the garden. I can picture you lounging on it with a good book and perhaps a lemonade? (or a hot chocolate, depending on the weather.)

Your waistcoat looks fabulous Heather, very summery but with added warmth. Ideal for lounging around in your recliner on the not so warm days.

Love the vest heather, you will be able to loll about in your new recliner wearing it when the weather is a tad too cool! Surely you won't have another very wet summer. Cheers

I love your waistcoat, Heather, it looks as if it'll be wonderfully comfortable.
A recliner is a must, I absolutely love my rocking chair in the summerhouse and some of my favourite times are spent sitting in there listening to the rain on the roof and watching it pouring down outside with the stove on and the doors open.

Having just been to the Kaffe Fassett exhibition I think your waistcoat is the flavour of the month.
And I have just ordered a garden recliner - arriving next week just in time for the wonderful weather I also ordered.

Yay...that's quite an achievement Heather. Its so satisfying to learn a new skill and actually create something you can use. I need to do that more often, lol!
Hope you find a lovely comfy recliner....and get lots of use out of it :-) x
