Look what arrived today!

These are my ill-gotten gains from my recent online shopping spree.   I already have a 6"square Gelli plate but thought a small 3"x5" one would be useful.   Here it is sitting on a pack of deli paper, which I keep hearing about but have never found.   It is like a very superior greaseproof paper and takes ink and paint well, so I'm told.

I also stocked up on Khadi paper - a pack of A4 sheets and a little square book all ready for printing and stitching.

These are the recommended paints so I splurged on a set.

And rollers to apply the paint to the plate.

A little free pack of decorated papers came with the khadi paper book.

And finally some Manutex for thickening the paint for different print effects.
It will probably take me a couple of months to pluck up the courage to try it all out but when I have done something worth seeing I'll let you know.

In the meantime I am still drawing birds.   I think I have worked through about half of those on my list and I must get a move on in case they wont let me keep renewing the library book I am copying from.

I am absolutely exhausted today, having put Christmas back in the cupboard for another year. I'm not sure which is the more tiring - putting up the decorations or taking them all down.

ooh, nothing like a shopping spree Heather. I think you will have great fun with the Gelli plate. Once you start it's difficult to stop! Love your bird drawings. They are really good.

Glad to read that you are exhausted (sorry about that, maybe comforted would be a more appropriate word) because I am too. Christmas has really taken its toll and now that it is over and I can relax I am really tired.
You are so clever with thosebirds Heather. I remember when I used to send for materials (often used ArtVanGo) and then was scared to use them. Good luck.

Love all your new supplies Heather. I too bought the small Gelli plate and if you paint a design on it you can use it as a stamp. Happy creating.

What a great collection of goodies, Heather, can't wait to see what you come up with when you get a chance to play.
I love the bird illustrations, looking forward to seeing more of this project.

You have bought the little Gelli ,I have been toying with and wondering if I could justify it.Your birds are beautifully drawn and a little more well nourished than your hare.I do think you should give him a good feed! I think they probably didn't give enough wool to pad him out but he is modelled very well.Looks like you will be having a very creative New Year, best wishes,Jenn

I think your skinny rabbit has a lot of character and love your stash. I need to get playing with a gelli plate again as well.
