Spring has arrived! The frogs told me! In the middle of last night I woke to hear them singing loudly in our garden pond and this morning there was our first dollop of frogspawn for this year. I was beginning to wonder if there would be any at all as they are much later than usual, but obviously they have commonsense and were waiting for conditions to improve.
I have been going round the house turning radiators down today. Can it really be only two weeks ago that we called the boiler man out to check that it was running properly as we couldn't get warm?
Chaos and mayhem will reign next week and beyond as we are having the living room redecorated and then new carpet put down. We have too much 'stuff' and I wish we favoured minimalist decor - it would make life so much easier. I know it'll take me ages to find where I have put everything and get it back to where it belongs. The present carpet has been down for 25 years. The cost of the new one comes to about the same amount as the price of our first home! It doesn't do to have a good memory for some things.

i would have loved to be able to hear frogs in the night Heather - have to get a pond first lol. as it is - we usually hear the seagulls as it gets light. urban living for you. good luck with the decorating. i've certainly got too much stuff and know how you feel.
Good luck with the renovations - I have been through that, and we are not minimalist people either - took forever to get everything back into place, but I love the finished result. I am glad it is warming up a bit for you over there, we are looking forward to cooling down. Cheers
I laughed when you said that the new carpet cost about the same as your first house--reminded me that we paid 10,000 pounds ($20.000) for our first home 50 years ago.Hope the reno goes well.
Still snow here Heather, although as I write the sun is shining. I hate having the decorators in - the trouble is you get up one day when the sun is shining and it suddenly shows up how shabby things are doesn''t it? As for new carpets - as you say, it doesn;t do to think about cost, think about the please you will get when your feet sink into it.
Yes! We had our first frogspawn of the year this morning too (and one of our metal frogs fell into the pond to join it - haven't been able to reach it with a net yet, too murky). Hope the new carpet proves a good investment :)
Thank goodness for that, can you please tell the weather man to stop it raining then.
Our first home was £11,000, 40 something years ago, doesn't seem possible does it!
Good luck with the decorating.
You are busy Heather. Our first house was just £1750 in a little village, but needed a lot of work on it.
I love that top image,beautiful!
