Do you believe in gardening in conjuction with the phases of the moon? I sowed these mixed salad leaf seeds on Saturday 24th March!! That was two days after the New Moon. I wasn't sure how much truth there was in it until I caught sight of all these little new shoots popping up this afternoon. It is said that we should sow seeds and plant things out on a waxing moon, and do any pruning or cutting back on a waning moon. It certainly makes you think, doesn't it?

My father was a firm believer in planting by the moon. He would plant above the ground and below the ground crops at different times, depending on the moon. He had a very prolific vegie garden.
Well! I've never heard of that one, but it certainly seems to have worked for you.

Old farmers always used these methods didn't they? I think, like a lot of these old things, it is foolish to suggest that there is no truth in them. After all, the tides are controlled by the moon.

Yes I plant and prune this way whenever i can. It seems to work xxxx
