I took these photos on Wednesday and have only just got round to posting them. It was such a lovely day, that when we had done the week's shopping we decided to have a picnic lunch at Cannop Ponds in the Forest of Dean.
The leaves are just beginning to come out at last.
You can just see one of the ponds in the middle distance.
Tree Beard's fingers ............
................. and toes?
We obviously called at siesta time.
A strange formation on this tree bark.
We could have had 'bread and cheese' with our sandwiches. Must dash - I hear visitors arriving.

thanks for your comments and best wishes for our upcoming exhibition. I hope you had plenty of takers for your inspiration packs, I quite like making these - well for the first dozen or so! Lets hope for good weather for the bank holiday so everyone can get out and look for bluebells.
Ah - bread and cheese - I haven't had that for years Heather and it does go quite nicely in a sandwich with a slice of cheese and a bit of chutney.
didn't know we had Ents in the Forest Heather lol. lovely photos.
Out driving today, the greens are truly amazing after the cold grey winter. Your photos show it beautifully. I haven't heard 'a little bit of bread and no cheese' yet this year though my husband did see a Yellow Hammer on our bird feeder last week.
Lovely photos, Heather. Great time of year now it is sunny at last.
Lovely pics, Heather, I love Treebeard's fingers and toes :-)
Lovely photos Heather, some of them almost look stitched.
