I'm still here!

I can't believe I haven't posted on my blog for a whole month.  I don't seem to have anything interesting to relate or to post about but thought I should put in an appearance however minimal.

Our wisteria has looked better than ever this year and now extends right the way across the front of the house.  We planted it about 15-20 years ago and it flowered right from the start.  I have heard of some that have taken several years to start flowering so we have been lucky.
There is a price to pay for all that gorgeousness and we are now paying it.   I have to sweep the fallen petals up daily as, in wet weather, they stick to the bottom of shoes and get trodden all through the house.  They also look awful lying on the path having faded to a dirty brown and I can sweep up almost a bucketful every day.

But I still love it.

Not much creativity going on here apart from potting up seedlings, planting tubs and trying to get some weeding done, energy permitting - I have wasted far too much on coughing, and it still hasn't gone completely.  I must start work on a couple more pages for my fabric book so that I have something to show next time.   Enjoy this lovely weather.

I love to see Wisteria but I prefer it in other people's gardens as I've never fancied pruning it! It does look lovely though. Sounds as though you've had the same energy sapping virus that I'm recovering from. Hope you are completely recovered very soon.

I know the feeling Heather I missed posting on my blog completely in May. I think it' such quicker to post on Facebook. Your wisteria is delightful, I admire them from a far as like most things here, they take over the whole garden. I hope you recover quickly from your bug.

Don't you hate when your computer substitutes your words as you're writing, it should say it's much, not it' such

On our way back from holiday in Suffolk we noted many wisteria, all in full bloom. They were magnificent - it must be a good year for them. Hardly one up here, maybe we are a bit far North, or a bit too high.

Gardening is creative Heather! I love wisteria but ours died for no apparent reason last year. Hope your cough clears up soon.

Hi Heather. i'm just as bad at posting these days. FB and instagram give you more instant gratification. I love wisteria and always envy those who grow them - not that I've ever tried. There seems to be a lot of colds and coughs around at the moment. Most of our family have had them. Get well soon so you can enjoy the warm weather.

What a gorgeous wisteria - sweeping up the dead flowers is a small price for that wonderful sight. I am glad you have been able to do so much gardening - very therapeutic I always think. Cheers
